This episode focuses on:

  • A special report on the prestigious South India Travel Awards, that recognized the celebrated the achievements of those behind the success of the travel and tourism industry in South India.
  • The South India Travel Awards held in Hyderabad on March 27, provided regional recognition for the first time.  35 awards were given to distinguished personalities at a glittering awards ceremony with a packed ballroom at the Radisson Blu.
  • Three industry leaders were felicitated with special awards, this included, Mr. Vivek Nair being commemorated in the wall of Legends, Mr. Sunil Kumar as the Game Changer and Zaheer Najeeb as the Face of the Future.
  • India Travel awards were a black tie event based on online nominations and voting. To keep the awards unbiased, an online Nomination and Voting system was adopted. Nominations were received for over 90 different categories and over 225,000 votes were received from all across the world.
  • Votes were received from 61 countries and the awards were presented to achievers from different segments of the industry which included travel agents, tour operators, aviation, domestic and international tourism boards, hotels and airlines.
  • A coffee table book highlighting Southern heritage was also unveiled on the occasion.
